Italian Art

I had the privilege of seeing a lot of amazing art while I was in Italy, but after awhile I must admit I grew tired of seeing so many scenes of Madonna and of the Crucifixion. So, when we entered this small pub across from the Ducal Palace I was rather intrigued by this little modern number. I think it pretty much speaks for itself...
Question: What would you name this work?

Praise You

So, I've had this idea for a long while now, and the thought of it makes me extremely happy as if I were Deiter on Sprockets. I'd like to re-create this little gem at our local Cinemark:

All I want to know is who's coming with me?!?

sponsia

B-word cube time contemplation took me here today:

And, I'm not so sure I'm really enjoying the aftermath... Why does it seem only a fortunate few get to enjoy the benefits of discovering their true passion? How does one acquire one of those? Just checkin'...

8 Random Dealies

My Special Lady Friend done asked me to share 8 random dealies with the world, so whoomp here it is:

1. I was born at home with the help of a mid-wife, and so growing up I never saw a doctor. The concept was so foreign to me that when it came time for me to have a physical examination in order to play sports I was beside myself with worry. Afterall, I hadn't studied...

2. My elementary school was condemned because of asbestos, and so for my final year there the entire school was moved into portables.

3. This one time at the Albuquerque Zoo, I got to feed an elephant pancakes with a long pole, while riding on its back. It was diabetic...

4. My high school no longer allows class skit presentations as a part of their Homecoming Week Celebration because of me. Booo....

5. I have a mole between my pinky and ring fingers on my left hand.
6. I can't stand having my feet covered by sheets that are tucked into the foot of the bed. It's too constrictive.

7. I once was in a van that lost its brakes while traversing Red Mountain Pass, and was thus forced to use a runaway truck ramp.

8. As a nervous habit, I often spell out words I hear during conversation on my right thumb using my right index finger.

And to close, a quote from Billy Madison should suffice, "what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Today's Movie Quote

For whatever reason, I stumbled upon some old Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory quotes today. This one seemed to give me the biggest chuckle, so for all of you students/teachers out there I hope you enjoy:

Mr. Turkentine: Of course you don't know. You don't know because only I know. If you knew and I didn't know, then you'd be teaching me instead of me teaching you - and for a student to be teaching his teacher is presumptuous and rude. Do I make myself clear?

So that happened.

Upcoming Aeroplane Ride Action Time 9er

Comforting thoughts as I look to fly to Italy next week...

[Tony is riding in a plane at night in a storm]

Tony Giardino: Hey listen. How long is it gonna take us to get there?

Pilot: Shouldn't take very long. [pause]

Pilot: Actually I have no concept of time.

Tony Giardino: Geez, is this dangerous?

Pilot: No. Well, you know there's chance in everything.

Tony Giardino: Look I don't wanna get too personal or anything but you've done this before, right?

Pilot: Oh yeah, yeah. I do this all the time. [pause]

Pilot: I've never done it at night.
Tony Giardino: How the hell do you even know if you're going in the right direction?

Pilot: Instruments, instruments!

Tony Giardino: Oh yeah? Yeah? What's that? [points to an instrument]

Pilot: That's the artificial horizon, which is better than the actual horizon.

Tony Giardino: [the pilot is asleep] What are you doing? Wake up!

Pilot: Ooooh man! I was having an amazing dream!

Tony Giardino: I don't care about your dream! Land the plane!

Pilot: I was just born, and... I was eight-and-a-half months premature. The doctors were freakin' out.

Tony Giardino: Oh please, shut up!

Pilot: Did I already tell you this dream?

Any guesses (without cheating) on the name of the film(muy facil), and the name of the comedian who played the pilot(un poquito dificil)? Me thinks that while we're quoting movie lines about aeroplanes, we might as well throw in some Airplane! quotes too...

[as the plane prepares to take off]

Hanging Lady: Nervous?

Ted Striker: Yes.

Hanging Lady: First time?

Ted Striker: No, I've been nervous lots of times.

Elaine Dickinson: There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Rex Kramer: Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

Ted Striker: Surely you can't be serious.

Rumack: I am serious... and don't call me Shirley.

So that happened...
